Eagle Robotics is part of FIRST, which stands for For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology. FIRST has programs from kindergarten up to high school (our team is part of FIRST Robotics Competition, or “FRC”), and while VEX (another robotics program) is more common our area, FIRST typically does have some local competitions. Here’s a link to the search tool which will show local competitions. Competitions start in the fall for Lego League, and in later winter for FRC. You you do no find anything now, check back later to see if events have been added.
Team 973 Greybots, another local FIRST FRC team in Atascadero, runs a summer robotics camp. They usually run camps in June and July, and you can find more information on their web site:
In addition to the Greybots, there are two other FRC teams on the Central Coast:
- 3512 Sparkatronics located in Orcutt (just south of Santa Maria)
https://www.spartatroniks.com/ - 5136 MechaPirates located in Santa Ynez

- 3512 Sparkatronics located in Orcutt (just south of Santa Maria)
You’ll find many more teams further south in Santa Barbara and Ventura areas.
VEX is a big part of several of the schools in the area. You can get more information about VEX here:

Click the link below for a list of local VEX competitions. Most LMUSD teams play in the VEX IQ division, but the VEX V5 can be fun to watch as well. Competitions typically run from September to February, and we don’t always have local events, but you can search other areas if nothing is listed.
